G4PLW's WWII Restored Bedford QLR Communications Truck
This is planned to be operating from the location of a WWII decoy site during the IMW - NGR: TL161(79) 211(80) if anyone fancies dropping in to say hello to Peter. This is Bendish, near Whitwell, Hitchin. The decoy site was intended to fool the German bombers into bombing open fields, rather than the Bedford factory and other munitions factories in the Luton area. The truck is equipped with various field telephones a mobile exchange, 19 Sets and an Icom 706.
